This area features delightful bouldering on small sandstone outcrops in the bush behind Ipswich. The problems are few and far between and involve a good amount of bush bashing to find. Make sure you bring a mat or ground sheet of some sort.
The area is situated inside Six Mile Creek Enviromental Park at the far (dirt) end of Redbank Plains School Road, Red Bank Plains.
At the carpark follow the path for a couple of hundred metres until a small path branches off on the left. From this point boulders are located about 100m in on each side of the path. Various problems abound with the easy ones on the left side of the path and the harder and bolder on the right. - Picture -
Another area, The Batcave, is situated a couple of km from the carpark. Follow the path for about 1200m until you hit a road. Walk right down the road for about 500m until an open field appears on your left. Just visable through the trees is an orange chossy wall. On the far right of this wall is a cleft opening at the base. Crawl inside this cave to discover a good selection of very steep test pieces! It is waterproof, well lit and it blocks the noise of those anoying trailbikes.
